Can't help you with either of those, but I can tell you where the roads that the bus scenes were filmed on. Some of it was filmed on Pikes Peak, and some of it was filmed on the Monarch Pass in Colorado. I've driven all of it, either in April last year or March this year while exploring roads for Classic Car Adventure's events. Was pretty distracting when, during the bus scene all I could think of was "I know that road! I know that road!!" Looked it up after I got out, and realized I was correct.

*Edit* Adding to this post, as I've found some more roads / locations / info for you:
"Race Wars" was filmed about 70miles north of LA in Lancaster. The filming location for Race Wars was highway 138.
http://goo.gl/maps/bE92k It has some curves, so it's *possible* they simply used those as the road in, but pretty unlikely. The second unit team (mostly stunt coordinators, and not the lead actors) did a lot of the travelling and location shoots while the actors were primarily based in Atlanta.
Interestingly enough, the ending of the bus scene with the running and spoiler catch was actually a real stunt, and not CGI. Filmed in a rock quarry in Atlanta.
