I was lucky enough to have a friend let me use her shop to cut and weld.

I spent a lot of time prepping and measuring to make sure everything went smoothly. The hardest part was jigging up to make sure the tube was welded straight. Since the sleeve is a pretty tight fit, if the tube isn't dead straight, it won't slide on.
