Afaik the Abbottsford (Sumas) Petsmart has cats from LAPS to be adopted, none of the fees go to Petsmart. Everything goes to LAPS.
But I agree, why would anyone buy from a pet store? Not only is it cheaper to adopt from a shelter, but you're guaranteed to know about any current or ongoing illnesses. And you get a free vet visit/spaying or neutering. My mom recently adopted a cat from LAPS, and all of my cats/dogs have been rescues of some kind. Signed
