if he's done everything he says he's done, then yes - all preventative stuff (within reason) is done. They eat starters pretty quick, but it isn't' a big deal. Go for a long highway run and listen for howling from the trans - mine's getting pulled tomorrow for a refresh at exactly the same mileage as this car.

Replacement IMS bearings can fail, especially if the engine had a failure before. There is a procedure to determine whether a failed engine should have the replacement bearing done, but nothing is stopping someone from putting a new one in anyway. I'd want to know how many miles have been put on it since the work was performed. I don't know what warranty he's talking about - if a shop isn't on LN's authorized list, they don't extend a warranty on the bearing. Far as I know, Juan's is the only local "preferred" shop that does. I sincerely doubt MB is going to pony up for a new motor if it fails.

Get him to send you a picture of the option sticker on the bottom of the "frunk" They're easy to decode and it would be nice to see if this car had factory sport suspension (they would be OK with lowering springs if they're still good) and if it has a sport dif.

I think I'd want to know a little bit more about the tuning that's been done.

SCAN will give you a really good inspection for $200 - even if it won't tell you the condition of the bearing - you'll at least be able to spot if the guy is BS ing about the quality of the work.
