Some changes have worked out well. Replacing a huge group of new characters with Mormont with Tyrion has made that line much tighter. Also Arya's story was extremely slow in the book, and is moving at a nice pace in the show. Still waiting to see what they do with Tarly.. somehow it feels like they aren't going to do his plot at all this season - It should be taking place by now.
The new Jaime Lannister storyline is
awful though. In the book we see him become his own man as he moves away from Cersei... I'll just leave it at that to avoid spoilers. He was probably my favourite character in the books (after Tyrion of course!), but in the show he's just a goofball. Also the Dorne fight scene last night was HORRIBLE.
I'm not sure what they're doing with Brienne but it seems like they're going to do something
very different from the books, based on the foreshadowing so far.
