Report: Aleksander Emelianenko Sentenced to 4.5 Years for Aggravated Sexual Assault

According to a report from the Associated Press’ Moscow branch, Aleksander Emelianenko, the brother of former Pride Fighting Championships heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko, has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison after being convicted of aggravated sexual assault in charges stemming from March, 2014.

The victim reportedly was employed to clean his apartment. Emelianenko, 33, of Stary Oskol, Russia, was also convicted of stealing the woman’s passport, according to court spokesman Oleg Shassaev.

Emelianenko’s brother Fedor is widely regarded as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, especially since former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight king Anderson Silva’s recent performance enhancing drug scandal. While possessing lots of the talent and in-ring composure that his brother held, Aleksander never came close to accomplishing what his famous kin was able to.

While the younger Emelianenko did capture wins against solid competition in Sergei Kharitonov and Assuerio Silva, he also was finished by Mirko Filipovic, Josh Barnett, Fabricio Werdum and Jeff Monson.
