I was tempted back then to check it out, but never did. Mainly because if it's super clean as described, then I wouldn't be able to resist (not looking to buy an additional car at that time).

Why bother with the E60 when you can find E39 540 6-speeds quite easily for much less? More DIY-friendly and classic styling. Or, if you're looking to drop 20K on an E60, then why not pony up a few more for a clean E39 M5?
