I enjoyed it as well. That view from the Palace straight down the Grand Canal way into the distance was very cool, felt like I was looking at a painting.
Check out the app, Triposo, as well. You can download city specific guides that can be accessed offline. It'll give you info on sights, places to eat, etc. You'll be able to read a brief summary of a certain landmark/point-of-interest you are looking at. And the food places are located on an offline map where you can just use your phones gps to navigate.
Another thing I've been doing is starring locations on google maps while signed into my google account. That way on my phone, I can use my gps to take me to all the places I have marked with a star. Makes it easy to plan my day in the morning and I'd screenshot any train/tram/bus stops the map tells me to take.
