i use a garment bag, but it's technically too big for carry on (as i'm flying for work, i fly business, so they don't care) - garment bags checked in get royally abused

otherwise, wear the jacket and pack the trousers (will be fine)

or pack both and get them pressed as recommended - pressing should cost <$20 and you'll look good
