you are right on many aspects here. canada is a great place, but it's not the only great place.
As for Europe's economy, don't be so quick to judge based on the headlines. For educated people, especially in finance (like myself), the opportunities are abundant and way greater than in Canada (and even in the US for myself, or so I found). Also, Germany (which admittidly is the economic engine of Europe) has full employment - they are having issues filling positions, yet you won't hear that in the news that much around the world (and why would you)
also, on the economy front, for unemployed it is so socialist here that they have amazing benefits (something I personally hate), but it has been explained to me why this system works so well for society on the whole, and you do start to see the benefits to it... don't get me wrong, I pay a top marginal tax rate >50%, which is sickening, but life is very harmonious (until a jihadi goes on a lone wolf crazy attack, *knock wood*)
