My cousin was considering it before, but read that they could fail in the future, so he was put off, iirc there is another type of surgery which isn't supposed to have the same complications as LASIK, just can't recall the name.
Also a few weeks ago cbcnews was showcasing a new product created by an optometrist or opthalmologist in Abby which is supposed to replace the cornea and improve eysight 3X better than 20/20
