Hi Smoothie, thanks for the response

The solenoid has no corrossion, and the check engine light is not on. I think it is working. All threads I have read are saying the solenoid rarely fails.

Could it just be in my head? That is what some people are saying on some threads I have read. There is no loss in power, the car pulls strong all the way through. Just hard to believe a valve adjustment might make that much of a difference. The shop said my Intake valves were a little light, and my exhaust valves were still in spec.

Is there a way to check if the solenoid is functioning?

Also, car has 3 bars and is up to temp. I rarely use Vtec, since I rarely drive the car. Has fresh gas, 91 Shell from the states. Spark plugs have less that 5000kms on them.
