I'd say just shell out for a $100-$150 one. There are a lot of starter kits at around the $100 mark. I suggest the new evic-vt, or the kanger sub kit. The isticks seem to be popular, but they've had a lot of reports of quality issues.
If you go for a cheap one, you're going to "grow out" of it in a few weeks.
