You will pretty much always need hardwiring to get parking mode, some cameras have internal batteries and can record without constant power but it's for an hour tops and they tend to be pretty unreliable. If you have a cigarette jack that puts out constant power that could work as well though. My Fiesta didn't start a few weeks back because I have a constant cigarette jack and left my usb charger plugged in
