i had sent away my f40 to be resprayed before i found this, but the previous owner did try to wet sand it using the above technique but it was too far gone to save.
same goes for the e46 m3 i posted a billion pages back. there wasn't anywhere on that model that didn't have rash. it's currently with pete's spec for one of his custom rebuilds.
