Cause they went on an absolutely ridiculous run after the all-star break. I think they were like 8 games behind the Yanks heading into the all-star break and ended up winning the division by 6 games ahead of them. Yanks played really well too (until the last week or so lol)
Their pitching was rock solid once Price was added to the rotation and they had the best offense in baseball. They led the league in home runs and runs scored. They scored 161 more runs than the second place RBI team in the entire league
