My dad is looking to pick up a fun car and he's been debating between a first gen Z4 (in auto... has a bad left knee) or a '69 Cutlass Supreme (which was the first car he ever bought). His DD is a Prius C, so I kinda get why he wants another car to zoom around in. I don't know enough about the Z4 to say what's a good deal or not, but this one seems to be the best of the bunch when it comes to the price:mileage ratio.
The crappy loonie makes it an OK deal. BMW I6 means lots of bottom end grunt which means the car can be an awesome daily. Steptronic or whatever is boring as hell but not the worst transmission ever. M54's are super reliable if you get a good one. Not as fun as an S2000 but a lot more practical. The chassis is a little boaty but with a good set of tires still very precise. I've had my 5sp 2.5 for 7 years. No problems other than the pop-out cupholders self-destructing quite a few times. I'd let you drive mine if it wasn't cold as balls and uninsured.
