parents looking to go away for a few days and i'm having a hard time thinking of places.

end december
drive-able
should be "snowy/wintery"
not a touristy area for staying (ie. no whistler, no sunpeaks, no baff/jasper)

All I could muster up was Edmonton, but in the middle of winter :|
I'm also trying to stay away from the US cuz 1:1.33

any ideas?
