Anyone who argues 4k isn't a noticeable improvement has not seen a proper setup.

IMO it is an amazing step in TV technology. While it's only Netflix and a few apps that currently stream native 4k content, there are still thousands of hours of content.

Not to mention good sets with good processors do a great job at upscaling

Purchased the 55XBR850B last winter, every single
Person who has seen it at my place has remarked how good it looks.

There is a lot of contradicting opinions online, however almost every single person with a 4k set will promote it and the people pushing against it do not have one. Really hard to make the decision on your own until you've seen a set properly setup and calibrated outside of bestbuy etc.

Also keep in mind, you need minimum 18mb/s connection to stream native 4k. If your connection is slower than that or being bogged down by downloads etc. the netflix app will not even display 4k options
