Did the old macbooks become completely obsolete?

Macbook in question...
-Big fat heavy white macbook
-Mac OS X 10.5.8
-can't update web broswers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) says computer doesn't meet requirements
-tried to check for software updates on the computer itself by pressing the apple on the top left, and it says everything is up to date

I can browse RS, but I can't go on Youtube
