It's a good way of breaking up just because it turns into an argument if 1 person does not want to drive, or cannot drive. Putting the burden onto that sole person.
"Don't you love me enough to come see me?"
"Why can't you come pick me up?"
If both people can drive, or both people atleast make an effort to travel to eachother, then it'll be fine. Otherwise...
