YVR to HKG economy uses 60,000 Avios Points and 300 dollars in taxes. (not super worth it with all these flight deals happening).
For domestic flights like HKG to Taiwan/Singapore etc, it's around 10-20k points round trip with $50 taxes. Domestic European flights should be similar.
With 27k points you could squeeze 2 domestic international flights or one North American Flight.
You could make a British Airways account to see how much it would cost in terms of points and taxes. With the Avios Rewards program you are limited to the OneWorld Alliance only though.
You could also transfer to the American Airlines AAdvantage Program, but I'm not too familiar with their points and tax system.
