USB C will be on all the new phones soon so it won't be a problem then.

Eventually all phones will convert to type c but i'd give it another few years until they do. that's when i'll probably get one. i wouldn't want to be carrying that converter with me everywhere its nice to conveniently have access to a cord from a friend or anyone lol
