If I buy a GTX 1070 and use it with my i3 dual core from 7 years ago, I should be able to notice an FPS increase from my ati 5850 still correct?

Averaging 120fps in CS GO , playable but wouldnt mind smooth butter. Will buy parts as time progresses obviously and place the 1070 in it.
