I usually have some soft plugs in my bag, but not this time. Aside from that, I was thinking of those electronic muffs that allow you to hear voices, but tune out the gunshots. They're probably expensive though, and that would cut into my ammo funds.

You can get electronics muffs starting around $50 or so. They work well outdoors, I haven't had a chance to use them indoors so I don't know how well they work in such a situation.
