Sorry about your loss. And I must pat your back and say good job for being strong and doing this for the sole betterment of the old pup. My dog of 16 yrs old had a stroke and couldn't eat or walk up and down stairs, but I hand fed her and carried her, mindlessly trying to nurse her back to health, but a few months went by without any improvements. I then started questioning whether I kept her really for my own sake or hers. I'm happy you recognized the timing but am truly sorry for your loss.
