Took the family to Nightingale for lunch. The design of the room is beautiful. Our waitress wasn't as on the ball as their sister restaurant Hawksworth but I don't think they were aiming for white table cloth service. She was nice enough though.
Food was really good but portions were definitely on the smaller side.
We ordered the:
Roasted Cauliflower - normally not a fan of cauliflower but these were roasted perfectly
Roasted Maitake mushrooms - the roasted hazelnut gave it a very earthy aroma, delicious.
Anchovy toast - quite unique but personally wasn't on the level of yum as the other appies.
Tomato salad - I noticed a trend that they use pesto sauce on a lot of their dishes lol, the salad was tangy and light with assorted heirloom tomatoes. I enjoyed it.
Charred lamb chops - juicy and tender, seasoned perfectly with a nice charred crust to give it that smokey flavour.
Cavatelli carbonara - disappointment dish of the meal, came out looking like a fancy mac'n cheese. Not much punch to the dish and was too thick and creamy for my preference.
Pizza of the day, Pork Belly - I found it lacking in meat, but the crust was airy and crispy.
Their Nightingale beer which the server said is specially brewed for them from Main Street brewery, a blend of Pilsner and Saison, is delicious. Great summer beer.
Comparing quality, flavour and value to Le Crocodile which is a 10/10, they get a solid 8/10.
Put quite a dent on the wallet though lol.
