Hello Revscene,
So I am just in the middle of moving back to Vancouver. In fact my car is all packed up, and I am leaving tomorrow morning. I have a new job starting on Tuesday near the downtown area.
I originally moved away to Alberta for work back when the NDP was in power and the economy was shit. Now the economy in Alberta is shit, and the good ol' NDP are in power... so I guess it is time to come home, haha. Really looking forward to it.
I am an avid Autocrosser, I have a bright orange Fiesta ST that I do pretty good with. One great thing about Vancouver is the car scene is so much more vibrant and alive. It is a bit late in the year for me to get into the local scene, but I am hoping that next year I can hit a lot of the events going on.
Right now I am selling my house in Calgary. It is a beautiful 3000+ sqft bungalow with a quad car garage on a quarter city acre lot located just 10 minutes from the DT core even in rush hour. So doing the math... if I trade straight across, I should be able to afford a 700sq/ft downtown condo
Hmmm... yeah that is going to be a change.
I really want to find a place in the DT core, my new office is located nearby and my wife is transferring to a DT office there in a few months time. Kind of getting discouraged by the stuff I am seeing.... I really wanted a 1000sq/ft unit with 2 parking stalls. Doesn't look like I can afford that unless I move out to Burnaby or Richmond.
Anyway.... really glad to join the forum. Looking forward to meeting some of the people here at local meets and racing events!
