This system has existed in one shape or form since basically the beginning of time. Look at the US collapse in 2008, only to have things recover and be stronger than ever only a few short years later. Politicians, funded by the elite rich people, are short sighted. If the system collapses as you suggest housing prices will be the least of our concerns.
