To be honest rope the easiest training method to rope training is the way we would train for Boxing.

I generally jump rope for 3 minute round increments, take your 60 second rest, and back at another 3 minutes. How many rounds is pretty much up to you, I try to keep my rope sessions to around 15-30 minutes, depending on how long I had weight trained prior.

If you can't do 3 minutes at a time, than do 1.5 minutes per round, with 30 second rest between, etc.
