I would've milked that scene a bit more. Have Glenn fall over, gurgling, trying to say I love you. Neegan stands over the body, laughing and saying he can't hear anything. Close up on Glenn coughing up blood and tears rolling down his face, then BOOM, bat to the face (no cuts).
