Still curious who the distillers are. Bottle just says distilled by SL55-1
My laphroaig is almost done and i want a cheaper, peaty bottle i can drink regularly.
Has anyone every tried McClelland's Islay? What are your thoughts?
They're the cheapest single malts available and i tried a Highland one a few years back and for the price, i thought it was pretty good.
Any other recommendations on peated scotch (or maybe even any peated whisky) around $40-$60?

Not sure which Laphroaig you tried, but both 10yr and quarter cask are very peaty. We just launched Laphroaig Select in private retail. It is a lower on the peat scale and approx. -$10 less expensive. Most consumers either love Laphproaig or absolutely hate it. Select was developed to bridge the smoke gap.
McClelland's is the best value single malt period. It is owned by Beam Suntory so the liquid is the real deal. They produce all their own product and do not buy from other suppliers. McClelland's Highland and Spyside are really good value as well.
