Hi Everyone!
My 1/18 Aventador SV's Kyosho Ousia's have arrived. I mentioned in my past post that I will do a review and share with you my thoughts on this model. I ordered two colours, Red and White.
Well my first initial thoughts were WOW. These models look really nice especially the red version. Accurate shape, and it doesn't look cheap for a $99 USD car. After reviewing the Huracan's, I knew what kind of expectations I was getting. Not too high and not too low.
The Panel lines are decent, and one item that really surprised me, was Kyosho actually used a mesh for the air vents for the SV.
I thought Kyosho would cheap out by using a plastic piece that is molded to represent the grill mesh, but they didn't. Other details included are minor engine details (even though it is mostly covered up by the Carbon engine covers).
The carbon decals looks too scale. Kyosho even added some minor details to the side air radiators. The air vents even had a grill mesh beneath the openings. I was really impressed with these little details.
The interior is nicely done, but one thing I noticed upon further inspection was the missing paddle shifters. I double checked this with the white version, and hoping I may have received a defect. But… ohhh Kyosho… How could you miss this detail? I hope someone points this out to them…The other issue I had with my model was the QC on some areas I thought paint was applied a bit thick. The panel lines were not deep enough IE fuel cover area. But on the white model, the outlines for the fuel cover area is more apparent and deep. Again some QC issues.
Same as the Huracan, the Aventador features plastic disc brakes and rotors. I still hope Kyosho will use Photo Etched parts to further enhance the look of the disc brakes, but after all this is a $99.00 USD model. Overall the wheels and brakes look very good.
Would I recommend this model? Yes, I would. It may have its deficiencies, but compared to what you can get out there for an Aventador SV, this model is bang for your buck.
Note: AutoArt will release an Aventador SV, and as usually it will be detail, and will feature opening doors etc...And it will also be in composite (AutoArt for Plastic) and the street price will probably be around $250-$300 CND range. The other option is MR Collection. A very nice resin SV model that is priced around $600.00 USD on eBay.
Enjoy the pics, and comments are welcomed.
Happy Collecting!
Thanks,
William
