I can't say anything good about Alienware laptops.

My brother and I both have M17x from a few years ago, and a bunch of my students bought Alienware laptops (different models etc) after seeing mine. Against my warning.

Long story short, every single one of us have had problems (of varying degrees) with our laptops.

Dell DOES respond decently when you put in a claim on an issue, but the fact that 5/5 Alienware laptops all have had problems scares me.

I tell all my students not to buy them because it is overpriced, big and heavy, and has tons of problems. There is literally no reason to pick Alienware over another gaming laptop with similar specs.

EDIT: might as well share some of the issues: Spoiler! Keys on keyboard not perfectly set in (crooked / popped up) disk drive no longer burns disks, just stopped working one day Screen fuzzy / staticy (student got it replaced for free of course, but it happened within weeks of owning it) Another student's Alienware died (don't know specifics, but the warranty basically gave him a new one as replacement) Sound pops randomly on occasion Another student's Alienware is slow as frick. I didn't look into it, since it was not my laptop. __________________ <:D
