I wasn't aware that a naked portafilter will help you achieve a noticably different shot (in terms of viscosity).
I googled after, and it seems like it is something discussed. As per
Espresso Machine Mods: 4 Reasons to Use a Naked Portafilter - Perfect Daily Grind point #3- seems like it's little noticeable difference.
Slayer is just something I want to eventually move towards. I've been reading more and more about this machine, and the touted increased tds, extraction %, and thicker shots seems really appealing. The looks is also
