It certainly is suspect. I didn't think ITR's were still a big target for theft. I suppose values have risen and many of them are hidden away in garages and less likely to be left unattended in parking lots.

teggy604, in the majority of BaT auctions which I followed the buyer never travelled to view the car prior to purchase. On occasion there is a local interested party who views it and speaks with the seller and posts more details in the comments section. It is more likely that a local will make a BaT purchase (save on shipping, get to see and drive it, meet in person to assess the seller).

Flying out to view a car that is up for auction only to lose the auction because of higher bidder would be a PITA.
