Yes, summer is considered shoulder season and September is peak hurricane season as well. That's not a bad deal though. We ended up booking a cruise for late May with an outside balcony cabin. By the time we get back, after paying for insurance, drinks and excursions, we'll have spent the same easily. And that's after booking the return flight home with points.
