They do have a thing against contractors who've done work for them directly, as my fiance's cousin had done work previous for a different contractor and has had a hell of a time even getting an interview with Telus.
I doubt any installer position would be even considered without a class 5 or better licence as almost every position i came across either required to you be on different sites constantly, or use a company vehicle for the purposes of work. Also have to have a reasonably clean drivers abstract which is one of the first pieces of documentation they require after applying.
