It is slowly becoming more of a university where they pile on a bunch of theory/lecture. Without the hands-on applied learning and application, there is no context into the classroom material. BCIT was well known for this, but I guess now that they are granting more and more university degrees, they've lost their way.
Perhaps I was lucky to have been in a program where one day in the week, it was lecture/theory, followed by a hands-on lab the next class to apply what we learned (or didn't learn.) I found this helpful because it showed very clearly who in the classroom did their readings and assignments and come lab day, you couldn't do the work, you would be called out and shamed to no avail because all you did was drag the rest of the class down. It's probably worse than an RS Beatdown.

two of the last 3 teachers/instructors i've had at BCIT are hardly what you would call a "teacher". Barely "professionals" in their fields handing out notes and lectures from a previous instructor.
