1) Always buy a smaller size than you need. There are ways to fit you on a smaller but you can't size down. I'm 5'5 and definitely a 52cm for Specialized was still a bit big. I wish there were 50' out there on CL.

2) I have seen some unprofessional shops out there who would sell what's in stock instead of sizing you properly, just FYI.
I went to check out the bike yesterday and the sales person was really really nice and helpful. I told him I was interested in getting my first road bike and the ALR01 caught my eye and was within my budget.

He spent a good amount of time just telling me about bikes and all the different components and told me what to look for when shopping around. Showed me a couple different bikes and why they were different as well as different price points and what you get at certain ranges. Told me about sizing and measured me. Turns out i'm a 51.5 and how to properly measure the bike to see if it would work for me.

Said the same thing about testing the bikes, just keep on testing to see how different bikes ride even though it's outside of my budget.

I'm planning on going back to do a test ride, didn't have time yesterday as I was just dropping by while the wife did groceries lol.
