Didn't get a chance to check out the Tapestry in Bayeux (stayed there overnight at Hotel Luxembourg, what a cool town). I checked out one of the Musuems that had all the vehicles and gear/uniforms recovered and preserved from ww2 which was very interesting to see. The drive from location to location was fun in itself even with a 90hp 3 cylinder Renault. Essentially the route was through the country side Port Bessin -> Omaha Beach -> back to Longeus-ser-Mer to the artillery battery back to Bayeux. Next morning Bayeux -> Saint Marie Du Mont -> Utah Beach -> and then long haul to Mont-Saint-Michel and back to Paris through city centre including the Arc De Triomphe to Chantilly. Very action packed 2 days of drivint but totally worth it. Rest of my time was just in Paris. I'd suggest others considering road trips to bring a sleeping bag and rent a hatch back since there are loads of places to camp along the beach
