Hmm, I don't know man. Too early to say right now! Still in honeymoon with it right now lol.

My guess is that if I were to sell, it would be the CTR. The reason is that Honda isn't going to make another S2000 - a car with a bespoke high revving engine with unique RWD chassis. What I mean is that the car doesn't share any major mechanical components with other cars.

I bought the CTR because I'm a Honda guy and I want something that is decently fast while being practical. The latter is important since I have a baby coming. My S2k isn't going to fit all the baby stuff. With that said, I go in knowing that the CTR isn't built on a unique platform, nor does it use a special bespoke engine. I also expect Honda to keep on making new Type R's so perhaps by the end of 5 or 6 years, I can get another one.

My understanding is that the Civic project leader or some engineer mentioned that they are considering variants for the Civic Type R. The AWD and/or more powerful versions were added by journalists - in other words, those versions are just speculations.

I'm not saying that we won't see a AWD and/or more powerful CTR down the road. But it can also mean an Acura version of the CTR. For instance, perhaps a new ILX with a Type S model that uses a variation of that 2.0T engine + SH-AWD or even Sport Hybrid SH-AWD.

The Civic sits on a new platform that is shared with the new 10th gen Accord. And this platform would most likely be used for the next gen ILX too, which I think would get AWD. That's probably why there's room for a rear diff and what not.

Haha but that's not brand new! That's the 9th gen!
