Long story short with Costco tires. The system was never ever meant to take as much business as it is doin now. For 15 years it’s been doing the same old same old. Now the last 5 years since the Canadian dollar has tanked, business has doubled every year.
Not only do we have more people buying tires than we have places to store then (let alone enough staff to install them or bays to put cars) but Michelin and Bridgestone can’t even ship us all the orders. My father ordered tires and was called to be told his appointment needed to be moved since the tires haven’t even shown up yet.
So it’s kind of a combination of just way too many people ordering tires, and the manufacturers not being able to fill the orders
