I guess chivalry really is dead...?

I used to do this for a girl I was seeing a while ago. She liked it at first, but as I did more, she got a bit annoyed. Eventually we started poking fun and race for the passenger side door, LOL.
It's probably like the others said about how girls are more independent nowadays. Doing that once in a while is fine, but don't do it too often.

That's a lot of "haha"s...
YMMV but in my experience, girls use" haha" a lot when things get a bit awkward.

For this girl that I went out with, initially my response time was about 2 hrs each, then she gave me her number, and I waited a bit before texting her.
I told myself I'm tired of these mind games, but like it seems to be what works. Personally I just didn't want to come off as not having a life and being on my phone all day.

I can just talk to her in person a bit on weekdays so no problems. It's just that she's busy on weekdays and I don't particularly like being an asshole and holding up a line in Timmy's just because I am talking to a girl I like.
In my case, I am the one who gave her the number. She didn't text me until the second night. It sounds silly, but once I figured out how her schedule works, it's understandable.
I am with you. There are some general rules/guidelines I follow, but I try not thinking too hard about it.
