People in this city pay 800k for a box in the sky but think their food cooked by some of the most talented chefs in the country should cost the same as picking it up at a grocery store. Unless you know what the profit margins are for restaurants, you don't know what food should cost. Food in most restaurants should cost 1.5x what it costs, tipping shouldn't exist, and mid level workers should be paid appropriately as a result.
If the food sucks for the cost, then yeah, its overpriced, but if its good food at a good restaurant, thats just the cost of it. Deal with it, or learn to cook and eat at home. Hell, I'll even teach you the basics if you want, but thats not going to be free either.

Couldn’t agree with all of this more!!! I hear it all the time too now working cutting meat from all the damn cheap people. “Holy hell, $12 for a ribeye steak that’s insane!” Then they go get their $20 of beer lol
