Not saying that's not a bad idea. But your reputation at your current company might take a hit and might slow your future advancements. IMO, if you're gonna go for the money, just go.
You can make them match your competitor's salary today, but what happens two years from now when they don't give you as generous a raise? You'll be back at square one.
