A 600 and 1000 are both way too fast for the street. It's just a 1000 will have the torque and mid range so you don't feel like you're ringing out the engine.

That of course is a generalization. A R1 felt slow in the city compared to my CBR600RR. but past 8-9k rpm and it pulls hard.

What kind of riding are you planning to do? mostly commuting, with some weekend spirited riding? track days?

how fit are you? can you go 3 hours on a sport bike without needing a spinal adjustment?
