My personal opinion is that Mercedes-AMG knew what they were doing. They knew they were going to attract a lot of Skyline GT-R/Nissan GT-R lovers with that name
By the way, is it preferred to refer to the M-B subbrands (Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach), or just say "AMG" and "Maybach"? I personally switch between "...AMG" and "Mercedes-AMG", but I say "Maybach" only when referring to the Maybach 57/62; I'll say "Mercedes-Maybach" if I mean the S-Class/G-Class Maybach models. Sub-brands are confusing.
