So, I’m at Empire Fields using the free DC fast charger. Since I have 20 minutes to kill, I decided to post something in this thread. When I purchased the first EV three years ago, the first thing I did was look into getting a Level 2 home charger. After all the research, I narrowed it down to the Clipper Creek charger. I didn’t have 240 at the back of the house, so I asked around to see what having one installed would cost. I was totally prepared to spend some money for it and wanted it done right. I asked Frip if he knew someone. You know he knows everyone, right? Anyway, I got this company (one of Frips friends works for them) to do the installation. So, long story short, the original panel in the house only had a few empty slots left for breakers, so electrician had to install another panel next to it. They then moved some of the breakers over to the new panel and then branched out to an outdoor conduit that ran to the back of the house where they installed another breaker panel in the garage. I’m so glad I went this route. Eventually, I was thinking electric cars would be very popular. I now have three 240 volt oulets in the garage. One outside between the two garage doors and two inside. Damn, I can hook up 240 heaters inside the garage and plug in a welder, ffs. Totally worth it. I also plan to run power to the covered driveway for lights and stuff. Anyway, the car is now charged. Em Gee Juan out!
