blackgsr is right sbout the texture, i wasnt thinking.

What i would suggest is if the area is small, take a drywall sanding sponge and lightly sand/twist the sponge over the painted area, you may be able to lightly scrape the texture with the paint off and leave the rest in tact.

id also try and collect any of the dust created by sanding and brush that dust back onto the texture to further cover it up, the dust will be the same color as the texture
